Dan’s success has come in various capacities around the world, including as Managing Director at Global Crossing UK, CIO at Global Crossing, and President of Business Services at XO Communications, before he founded CloudSmartz.

Mark has been integrally involved in all aspects of the telecom and software industry, and his panoramic perspective uniquely qualifies him as CFO.

Mark guides the controller, treasury, shareholder relations, accounting, tax, and internal audit functions. His effective communication, predictive analysis of market trends, and forward thinking on the application of fintech solutions are vital in mapping out the strategic initiatives accounting for the current success and future sustained growth of CloudSmartz.

Matthew Ray

Matt drives market growth for emerging SaaS and enterprise software companies with great instincts for new technologies and industry trends.

Matt leads the CloudSmartz go-to-market strategy and execution to accelerate the adoption and expansion of the company’s products and services at a global scale, as well as brand management and growing corporate partnerships. His experience includes the launch of a stealth SaaS-startup and several digital and technical marketing roles at CloudSmartz, Earthlink, Global Crossing, and Level 3 Communications.

With 25 years in the telecommunications and IT industries, Mark brings to CloudSmartz a seasoned expertise in channel organization development from his tenures at notable firms like Hewlett-Packard and Oracle, and as a CRO at Nitel. His career, which began with Cincinnati Bell, Cable & Wireless, and AT&T, has been enriched by experiences in startups and major corporations alike, enabling him to meld rapid scalability strategies with established best practices in his role as Chief Revenue Officer.

Kate Kenney

Senior Vice President, Human Resources (Global)

Kate Kenney is a Vice President of Human Resources with more than 25 years in the HR and Professional Services Industry. She is responsible for all human resource policies, programs, and services for the organization – this includes employment, compensation, employee relations, health and welfare, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Umesh Goyal

Senior Vice President & General Manager (India)

Umesh is General Manager of our India teams and manages the day-to-day operations of 200-250+ team members. He has extensive experience of managing end-to-end operations, with complete P & L responsibilities of large business units. Umesh also directly supervises DevOps and Global NOC functions, and manages IT Enterprise Infrastructure.

Munish is our technology lead in our Center of Excellence office in Chandigarh, India. Brandon is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional® with 10+ years of client-facing project management experience spanning an array of industries including telecommunications and software development. His background consists of numerous years in the SaaS sector as well as tenured employment with Charter Communications.

Based out of Cleveland, Ohio, Brandon performs day-to-day duties as the lead client advocate. These responsibilities include oversight of the internal development workflow, consistent status reporting with supporting documentation to stakeholders, and on-time project delivery.

Mihir Satokar

Technical Product Director

Managing product lifecycle for major telecom customers, Mihir’s expertise lies in translation of complex business requirements into market ready solutions. Working with both telecom executives and experienced engineering teams, Mihir has in-depth experience creating highly motivated DevOps teams, delivering user-centric solutions, and scaling revenues as he builds enterprise grade products from the ground up.

Patrick Shutt

Executive Chairman

Patrick is an entrepreneur and well-respected technology and connectivity executive with substantial experience in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his distinguished 30-year career, he has led or contributed to over $800m dollars in capital market transactions including an IPO which raised $240m in equity.

More recently, Mr Shutt co-founded and serves as the Managing Director of Durham Black, a merchant bank specializing in providing strategic advisory services to Communications and SaaS technology businesses at all stages of growth and transformation.

Mr. Shutt served as the CEO of Unitas Global from 2014-2023. Under his leadership, this Network as a Service (NaaS) company underwent substantial growth. Patrick successfully grew the new business division into a profitable company, posting annual revenues over $80m in 2022. During this tenure, the company also acquired INAP’s network assets and announced a merger with Packet Fabric. As a result, the company’s value reached $250m.

Prior to Unitas Global, Mr. Shutt served as Global Capacity CEO from 2002 to 2012 and later as Vice Chairman from 2012 to 2017. His strategic vision and decisive leadership drove the company to generate over $200 million in revenue. This growth was fueled organically and through the complex acquisitions of 20/20 Technologies, Magenta Netlogic, and Megapath. In 2017, Global Capacity was sold to GTT for $100m cash and 1.85m shares in publicly traded stock.

In 1997, Mr. Shutt co-founded Universal Access, where as CEO, he grew the company to $144 million in four years; an achievement that earned the organization the 2002 Deloitte and Touche Fast 500 Award as well as the premiere ranking of the fifth fastest-growing company in the US. In 2000, Mr. Shutt pioneered Universal Access’ Goldman Sachs-led IPO, with an initial market capitalization of over $3 billion, which climbed to $5.5 billion at its peak.

Mr. Shutt began his career with Sprint Communications, subsequently followed by sales management positions with Cable and Wireless PLC and Teleport Communications Group (TCG).

Robert Pollan

Executive Vice Chairman

Robert is an accomplished investor and operator and has been involved in capital market activities that cumulatively are double-digit billions in capital market value.

He currently serves as a Partner of Durham Black, a merchant bank specializing in providing strategic advisory services to Communications and SaaS technology businesses at all stages of growth and transformation.

Most recently Mr. Pollan held several senior executive positions at Unitas Global from 2014 to 2023 where he built and grew the MSP business, then pivoted and created a leading NaaS business. The new business division grew to annual revenues over $80m in 2022. The company also acquired INAP’s network assets and announced a merger with Packet Fabric.

As a result, the company’s value reached $250m.
Mr Pollan’s extensive capital experience comes from founding, board, and leadership positions with GE Capital (1995-1998), Internet Capital Group (1998 – 2000), and ICG Commerce (1999 – 2000).

In 1998, Mr Pollan invested in Universal Access’s initial institutional investment round and served as a Board Member. Later taking on an operating role as the company grew from zero to $144M in annual revenue in four years and went public with an initial market capitalization exceeding $3bn, which reached $5.5bn at its peak.
